The rooibos plant is grown only in a small region of South Africa. Rooibos tea is prepared similar to black teas but is brewed longer to maximize the flavor.
Rooibos tea is caffeine free; contains high levels of antioxidants, flavinoids and superoxide dismutase (an enzyme that fights free radicals that cause aging); and is rich in vitamin C and other vital minerals.
Rooibos can be enjoyed hot or cold and with milk and sugar (as is traditional in South Africa) and/or with lemon or honey.
All loose leaf teas are shipped in silver-colored tin canisters, either large (3¼" x 4", holds approximately 5 oz and has a screw top lid) or small (holds 1 oz). Because of differences in composition and cut, actual weight may vary based on tea variety.
