Local MountainTaking a stroll though an orchard in the fall and reach up and pull off a tree ripened apple and as soon as your teeth pop in for the first bite and the flavor bursts into your pallet, from the fresh, crisp apple and you know, freshness matters. Coffee is no different. Our term 'crisp coffee' is how we describe the how fresh our coffees are when they reach you. One of the three tenets of Local Mountain is to delight you, our customers, with outstanding product. One of the ways we know we can do that is to deliver our coffee to you fresh from our roaster and let you see how much difference it makes to have a fresh roast.
Crisp = Fresh, and freshness does matter. Everywhere you look someone else is offering a new ‘premium’ brand of coffee. You can pick up a cup of brew at nearly any fast food location, convenience store or gas station that has a fancy name that indicates it is a high end select coffee. But what is it really? All this marketing has allowed most people to become numb to the concept that coffee that is carefully selected, roasted to perfection and enjoyed while the roast is fresh is just better. Not because it is named that way, but because it is that way.
At Local Mountain we work tirelessly to select the right coffee’s, the right roaster and the right blends to make sure that you can tell the difference. For all of our coffee our target shelf life is less than 21 days from roast. We believe this is the window for the best tasting coffee. This means our coffee is being enjoyed long before most places are even receiving their ‘fresh’ coffee. We have worked with our roaster to assure that coffee arrives at our location within 24 hours of the roasting process. In fact, we allow the espresso we use at our coffee café to go through the natural degassing process for 48 hours after arriving to assure that we have the most consistent shot pulls. It is that fresh.
