Local Mountain Community Cards: A great way to make your coffee count!

RAYS Community CardLafayette, IN - April 18, 2008: Local Mountain officially kicked off its innovative Community Card program with three participating organizations. Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette, Community Ventures in Living, Ltd and Rossville Area Youth Soccer have all partnered with Local Mountain to make specially designed Community Cards available at Local Mountain cafés. These cards can be purchased and used just like a regular gift card, but with an added benefit: 10% of all purchases made using the card will be donated back to the participating organization!

Community Cards allow our customers to do what they normally do - enjoy a warm latte, a cold Gelato, buy some fresh whole bean coffee - and have their everyday purchase benefit a local organization they care about."

It is very easy for additonal non-profit or service organizations to take advantage of this program. Local Mountain works with each group to design an organization specific card and then have them produced. Community Cards can work like gift cards, storing a set amount of value which customers can then redeem at the time of purchase for in-store items. But they also work as a loyalty card that can be used even without any stored value. All purchases made with a Community Card are tracked, and each quarter the purchases made with an organization’s Community Cards are tallied. Local Mountain then donates 10% of those net sales back to the organization. The program is a great way for an organization to raise money and awareness – customers who support the participating organizations have an incentive to give Community Cards to their friends and family and drive even more benefit to the organization.
