Local Mountain Ross-AdeWest Lafayette, IN July 25, 2008 – Local Mountain announced today that it has reached a definitive agreement with Purdue University to open Local Mountain Coffee @ Ross Ade. Local Mountain's first location in West Lafayette will be attached to Ross-Ade football Stadium and feature the same great Local Mountain atmosphere, product selection and, of course, core mission.
"The Local Mountain Team has been quite pleased with the warm reception and loyal customer support for our Lafayette location and we plan to build on that success at this new location. We are ecstatic about this opportunity and as a Graduate of Purdue, this location is close to my heart", stated co-founder Ric Brown. "Based on customer feedback and support we were evaluating locations in West Lafayette. After we spoke to the Athletic Department about their location, we quickly decided this was the right place for us." Through out the negotiations with the Athletic Department it was clear that they were not only interested in being a part of offering a wonderful experience to visitors and staff but also in finding a way to make the effort a benefit to students.
Visitors, staff and students alike will find some of the best roasted and freshest tasting coffee in the world. They will also find a collection of some of the finest pastries and locally prepared items that the community has to offer. "We strive to do as much locally as we can. Our local community is amazing in both talent and taste. We decided at the onset of the business that we would focus our expertise on making outstanding espresso and coffee beverages and look to the finest bakers, Gelato artisans and gourmet food suppliers to make the offering at Local Mountain very special."
But the community consciousness does not end with using local suppliers, giving back is important as well. A key component to the Local Mountain experience is the Community Card Program which will be open to support student organizations as well as other community organizations. These cards can be purchased and used just like a regular gift card, but with an added benefit: 10% of all purchases made using the card will be donated back to the participating organization!
The Ross-Ade location will open to the public in August. The shop is on the North end of Ross-Ade Stadium and can be accessed through the main stadium parking lot with dedicated parking directly in front of the shop. "Getting in and out of the store is very quick and convenient which will make it easy for those that enjoy a great cup of coffee to swing on by."
