Barista

We are seeking candidates for the position of Barista at our new, independent coffee café in Lafayette. A love of coffee, and a customer-focused attitude are musts. Prior barista experience and an ability to pour latte art are desirable.

In addition to meeting the requirements above, you are an extremely responsible, hard-working person with attention to detail regarding your friendly and courteous demeanor towards customers and the quality and consistency of the coffee you will be making and serving. Your focus on details extends to cashiering, maintaining an accurate draw and deposit, and following other internal cash handling policies. You are diligent in the upkeep of the café itself, maintaining a sparkling premises and comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere. You are eager to work together with a team and support each other in helping to make the café a success.

This is a part-time position that will report directly to the Manager and/or Assistant Manager. Growth potential to transition into an Assistant Manager for persons who demonstrate the initiative and capability to help make this café a success.

Responsibilities of a Barista include:

* meet and greet customers,
* make beverages to order quickly and consistently,
* cashiering
* sanitation and upkeep of equipment,
* general cleaning duties and upkeep of café appearance

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
