Welcome to Local Mountain Coffee!

We are really excited you stopped by. Simply put, we think that Local Mountain Coffee is the best place you can get coffee (or tea, or a muffin, or..., well you get my point). Inside the Lafayette CaféInside the Lafayette CaféWhy? Because not only will you find some of the best roasted and freshest tasting (and if you stop by our café some of the best prepared) coffee in the world, but you will also find a community consciousness that is focused on making sure that our business is not just a fashionable investment in someone's portfolio. As the founders backgrounds will attest, they have seen the worlds of not-for-profit service agencies as well as the high stakes - high growth publicly traded IPO business world. They took it all in, learned and then stepped back to create Local Mountain with financial soundness and a community consciousness focused on giving back.

We invite you to look around our site. Learn about the investment made into selecting the right coffee, the right roaster and the right way to bring you the best product. Explore how we have made it possible for groups in our local communities to benefit from every purchase made at Local Mountain.  read more »

Important Information about our Eastside (State Road 26) Café

While we weathered the difficulties of extensive road construction and had hopes for growth after that was finished, the downturn in economic conditions that occurred at the same time has made it impossible for us to keep this location open any longer. We have fantastic customers and we are very disappointed that we are unable to keep serving you here.

However, we would like to invite you to come visit our other café which is located on the north end of Ross-Ade Stadium. All gift cards and community cards will continue to be accepted there , and we’ll continue to serve the same great coffee, tea, espresso, gelato, and hand- picked local fare including biscotti and baked goods as we always have. Our Ross-Ade location also sports a spacious meeting room that can seat up to 85 people - this room can be reserved for free! Check our website for reservation details. If you enjoyed our whole bean coffee, we will continue supplying the freshest roast to you at your convenience: you may order any whole bean coffee variety online at our website for local delivery. We will call or email you to notify you when it is at our café and ready for pickup.  read more »

William Snyder original works now on display.

Innovation. Inspiration. Evolution. These are the tenets that define my photography.

Whether I am pounding the pavement of Chicago or humping the Indiana boonies, I am always in search of a new image to take.

From the studio to the street, every image I seek to attain is a challenge. Instead of relying on a beautiful model or picturesque scene to carry the photo, I try to capture the essence of the subject. I want the image to resonate with and engage the viewer in an intimate, unscripted moment. If someone pauses to ponder the personality underneath the surface or considers a familiar subject from an entirely unique perspective, then I consider it mission accomplished. I utilize the very cutting edge of photographic technology to produce vibrant visual images that stimulate the mind and emotion.  read more »

Brew a cup - Build a House with Local Mountain Coffee Habitat Haitian Blue

Lafayette IN, February 19, 2008. Local Mountain Coffee announced today the introduction of Habitat Haitian Blue Coffee. This variety was put together in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette as a way to blend a great tasting coffee with the construction of housing for people in both Lafayette and Haiti.

Local Mountain co-founder Ric Brown was eager to find a way to help. "Honestly, this is special for me. Before I moved from the area a number of years ago I worked with Habitat here in Lafayette. I have seen the huge impact this organization has had and the difference home ownership makes in a family's life."

"We are excited about the opportunity to introduce more people to the work we are doing here locally and in Haiti. We decided that offering the opportunity to highlight a product of Haiti through a local company was a perfect way to illustrate how we cooperatively work both locally and abroad to bring homeownership opportunities to people" stated Doug Taylor of Habitat of Lafayette. "The folks at Local Mountain understand our mission and have been great to work with in putting this together for us".  read more »
